Introducing the construct of evaluation to you

When you evaluate something or someone, you are apparently being more conscious about the factors in a process that have occured, occur, or will occur in the fture. You do a holistic observation, but what you really want to do is to take note of a specific part of that all. That specific part will take you a lot of reflection only if you want to understand better what you observe. Think that if you what you observe is worrying you, then you are surely going to find answers for solving problems or improving the quality of something.

I personally think that if you don't have evaluation tools with you, you will never get better what should be improved.

Cuando queremos evaluar, lo que queremos es tomar consciencia de la realidad de factores que ocurren o que son el resultado de un proceso. Por eso se necesita estar realmente preparado para saber que parte de ese proceso o resultado se requiere evaluar. Saber cuales son las características que queremos evaluar y hasta que punto debemos o estamos permitidos para llevar a cabo esa medición.

Evaluar a alguien o a algo es sentarse a observar y a tomar nota o peso específico de la parte del fenómeno que ocurrió, ocurre u ocurrirá.

If you think that evaluation is not important, look at you and look at what you do or have done. Now answer; what do you see?

Si crees que la evaluación no es importante; mírate y fíjate en lo que haces o has hecho, dime; ¿qué ves?

Is evaluation an important aspect as to make a person a successful one?

If you think that evaluation is belongs exclusively to education, let me tell you that your view is very short. I remember the first two question our teacher in the class of evaluation asked us during his presentation in the program of our postgraduate studies in Applied Linguistics; What is evaluation? What can you evaluate?

At the begining, I just tried to focus on aspects which I was familiarized with. Today, I applied evaluation to almost everything I do or I observe. Thinking in this way have also made me a bit more creative in instruments that help me to get evidence of what must be evaluated. I've also realized that all people actually evaluate material or abstract things, although they use a basic way to do it. From my experience, I consider that people who use evaluation in a more methodical way get a more critical vision of life.

Think about these questions; do you think that evaluation should be applied in a more formal way over our everyday activities? If so, how would you do that?

¿La materia llamada evaluación es importante en la vida de los seres humanos?... Yo creo qué sí.

Se los voy a poner desde lo que ha significado para mí.

La materia de evaluación , que me causó algunos contratiempos en el segundo semestre de la Maestría en Lingüística Aplicada, ha venido a resultar una herramienta de valor inmensurable, ya que mi visión sobre acciones y proyectos de mi vida académica, deportiva, y social tienen ahora más peso y las encuentro más interesantes debido a que todo lo que analizo está basado en factores de la misma evaluación. Tengo que decir que la evaluación que llevo a cabo la justifico por los resultados que arrojan de mis tiempos de estudio, mis acciones, y tareas . La evaluación la llevo a cabo de manera personal, pero intento conseguir el punto de vista de las personas independientemente que sepan sobre el tema o no. Dejo en claro que la realizo con la mayor reflexión posible después de haber leído a autores como Bachman y Palmer, autores cuyas lecturas abordamos en la maestría.

Decía que no me fue tan bien en esa materia porque la verdad desconocía lo profundo de los temas que allí se abordaron. Ahora creo que me he familiarizado con algunas ideas de los autores. Y es que la evaluación parece que surge de las necesidades que tenemos por mejorar algo de nuestras vidas o trabajos.
