COURSE OBJECTIVES

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To learn words through the analysis of the information provided by professional dictionaries such as Cambridge and Oxford for helping students to use the word in a wide range of contexts.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Learn words that are part of the list of KET examinations by Cambridge assessments.

Make students able to recognize words by giving the definition of the word.

Remember words by practicing the constant use of the brain's left and right hemispheres.

Increase students' self-confidence and fluency.

Make students speak English.

Learn both pronunciations; British and American.

Mecánica de la Clase

La mecánica de la clase es la misma que se ha realizado de manera virtual y es la siguiente:

Sólo contamos con un máximo de 30 minutos para terminar nuestra actividad.

En las hojas de abajo, llamadas "Analysis sheet" y "Boxes of Vocabulary", deberás ir almacenando la información que se comparta durante la clase de inglés.

Deberás fotocopiar la hoja ANALYSIS SHEET Page 2 para tener disponible una hoja nueva en cada clase en el Colegio. NOTA: Los alumnos y alumnas que tomen la clase de manera virtual no necesitan fotocopiar hojas porque ellos o ellas seguirán trabajando en PowerPoint.

El maestro te hará entrega de las primeras fotocopias en el salón del Colegio.

En cada clase se trabajará un palabra nueva. Estas palabras aparecen en la lista de vocabulario del PDF VOCABULARY LIST. A2 KEY, el cual es el PDF que aparece arriba de esta información y cuya liga electrónica es la siguiente: https://www.cambridgeenglish.org/images/506886-a2-key-2020-vocabulary-list.pdf .

Si por alguna razón decides asistir al colegio., deberás llevar tus fotocopias que puedes copiar e imprimir en casa.

WORD OF THE DAY

El primer día de clases en el Colegio recibirás 4 fotocopias para desarrollar las actividades de la clase de inglés.

Asegurate de ir archivando las hojas en una carpeta o folder. Para un mejor control márcalas con la fecha del día.

HOJA DE TRABAJO: HACER VARIAS FOTOCOPIAS DE LA HOJA DE ABAJO

La hoja de abajo "Analysis sheet u Hoja de análisis" es la hoja que debe fotocopiarse para tener una nueva por clase.

Procedimiento: la hoja de abajo la puedes copiar y pegar en una hoja de PowerPoint o de Word y luego imprimir en tu impresora..

NOTA: La imagen de abajo la pueden dibujar en su libreta en caso de no tenerla impresa.

BOXES OF VOCABULARY: WORD OF THE DAY

No olvides que cada palabra que aprendas (word of the day) deberá ir en las cajas de abajo.

1. Are you familiar with the word ACCIDENT?

2. According to the LIST OF VOCABULARY (PDF), what is the grammatical category for the word ACCIDENT?

3. Try to think of a sentence using the word ACCIDENT and write it in the blue or big box. Write it after the number 3.

Now go to the Cambridge Dictionary or Oxford Dictionary and get information to fill the sheet below.

Ahora ve a los diccionarios Cambridge u Oxford y obten información que sea relevant para tu aprendizaje de la palabra ACCIDENT.

WRITE YOUR OWN SENTENCES

FINAL WORK AT THE END OF THE CLASS / APROXIMACIÓN AL TRABAJO FINAL DE LA CLASE CON LA PALABRA DEL DÍA.

La información que el alumno o la alumna presenten dependerá de su propia conceptualización.

Los y las estudiantes saben que esta tarea no se trata de llenar las cajas con todo lo que aparece en el o los diccionarios o sitios de información. Sólo deben recabar información sustanciosa que ayude a su saber.

Antes de ver el trabajo final del día, los y las estudiantes revisan la palabra del día que ya aparece en el diccionario y que viene en el PDF LIST OF VOCABULARY. KET y observan la ortografía y la categoría gramatical a la que la palabra pertenece. Después de esto, los y las estudiantes leen la información contenida en el diccionario Cambridge con la palabra del día y comienzan a reflexionar y a llenar su hoja (el ejemplo de llenado aparece después del diccionario, más a bajo).

OBSERVEN QUE LA PALABRA DE LA CLASE HÍBRIDA YA ESTÁ ESCRITA EN EL DICCIONARIO

NOTA: EN caso de que algún o alguna estudiante termine antes de los 30 minutos de clase, pídale que dibuje una situación que represente una idea con la palabra indicada.

Intentaremos que el vocabulario que los o las estudiantes necesiten no salga más allá del vocabulario que aparece en la información del diccionario.

Esta sección les va tomar un poco más de tiempo porque tendrán que escribir ejemplos de su propia autoría en donde la palabra ACCIDENT este envuelta como sustantivo.

VOCABULARY CONNECTED WITH SENTENCES IN THE CAMBRIDGE DICTIONARY.

Objective: to ease students' immersion in the sentences by the Cambridge dictionary.

1. Prompt (adjective): done quickly, acting quickly. / pronto o rápido.

2. Swift (adjective): done quickly. / pronto o rápido.

3. Spread (verb): to cover or reach a wider or increasing area. / esparcir.

4. Disease (noun): Illness of people, animals, or plants. / enfermedad.

Activities:

1. Watch the video and analyze the information in it. / vean el vídeo.

2. If possible, present the images related to the word action so that students will familiarize themselves with the topic. / si es possible, muestren las imagenes.

3. Give the students the necessary time to fill their photocopies as in the previous session. / den Tiempo para el llenado de las hojas.

ACTIVITIES FOR THE DATE: Monday, 11th October, 2021.

Exercise 1: (time:3 minutes). Watch the visual an think of ideas of what you see is happening.

Exercise 2 (time 3-5 minutes): share your ideas with the group and teacher.

If you wish, copy the sentences on the back part of your photocopy.

Exercise 3 (time: 3-5 minutes): Think about the following questions and answer them on a piece of paper.

Exercise 4 (time: 3-5 minutes): analize the position of the vowel sounds in the word "activity". Now pronounce the word.

Nota: no es necesario queue copien esta imagen.

Exercise 5 (8 minutes): Now visit the dictionary Cambridge and fill the following photocopy.

Nota: en caso de que hayas olvidado tu fotocopia, dibuja estos esquemas en tu libreta u hoja en blanco.
